Dimension Data announced it has won two 2012 Microsoft Global Partner awards, including Microsoft Messaging Partner of the Year, and Microsoft Learning Competency Marketing Excellence Partner of the Year. The company was honoured among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.
SEACOM and MAIN One, the only two privately funded and open-access based African submarine fibre optic cable systems, were awarded “Best Pan African Initiative” at the AfricaCom Awards 2011 ceremony held in Cape Town, South Africa, last week. The award recognises an initiative taken by an organisation or a group of organisations to improve telecommunications services at a regional or continental level.
Main One Chief Executive Officer, Funke Opeke, explained: “Through this partnership, Main One and SEACOM have extended their individual cable systems to the opposite coasts of Africa without the efforts required to construct brand new routes.
The Hopeville feature film, which was released nationally in South Africa in September 2010, has been making in-roads at the international film festivals and awards events.
Hopeville is a film produced by Heartlines, which is a beneficiary of the Convergence Partners Foundation.
The Technology Top 100 (TT100) awards ceremony was held at Vodaworld last night. Convergence Partners’ investee SkillPod Media was a finalist in the Excellence in the Management of systems category.
At the ninth annual Metropolitan Oliver Empowerment Awards ceremony held on the 25th March 2010, Dimension Data was awarded the prestigious most empowered ICT company award.
