Dimension Data Dimension Data’s nationwide E-Learning Centre initiative, in partnership with Convergence Partners Foundation, continues to give students access to premium technology applications to support the school curriculum.
E-learning was established in 1996 and provides multimedia learning to over 27 500 learners nationwide enrolled at 52 partner schools. The e-learning curriculum covers English, mathematics, life science, physical science and accounting.
Convergence Partners extended its relationship with ForGood (www.forgood.co.za), an initiative of Heartlines (www.heartlines.org.za). The support provided by the Convergence Partners’ Foundation to ForGood is for the continued development of their social netwoking platform that aims to provide a platform for South Africans to share experiences and make a positive contribution to society. This initiaitve that supports the development of good values in society is part of the corporate social investment activities of Convergence Partners and its Foundation.

Intelsat S.A., the world’s leading provider of fixed satellite services, announced today that the launch of the Intelsat New Dawn spacecraft aboard an Ariane 5 rocket, initially scheduled for launch on March 30, 2011, was scrubbed after the launch sequence was shut down automatically. The spacecraft is secure. Arianespace is going to review the data and make another launch attempt at a later date.
The Hopeville feature film, which was released nationally in South Africa in September 2010, has been making in-roads at the international film festivals and awards events.
Hopeville is a film produced by Heartlines, which is a beneficiary of the Convergence Partners Foundation.
Convergence Partners, a SSP sponsor and part of the mentorship programme, was proud to attend the SSP 10th anniversary celebration on 24 February 2011, held at Summer Place, Johannesburg.
The SSP is a scholarship and mentorship programme aimed at identifying and supporting historically disadvantaged scholars that are academically talented and show strong leadership qualities, by funding tuition at some of South Africa’s top high schools. In addition to having their tuition costs covered, the SSP students have the benefit of access to successful people in business and society as their own mentors.
The Intelsat New Dawn satellite is scheduled to be launched on 29 March 2011 from Arianespace’s launch site in Kourou, French Guiana. Intelsat New Dawn is the first ever African private sector communications satellite.
